Softball splits with Central Baptist College (JV)

Game 1
Even though SEARK Softball collected seven hits to Central Baptist College JV's five, they still fell 7-4 on Monday at Central Baptist College. Randerson led SEARK Softball with two hits.
A double by Randerson put SEARK Softball on the board in the top of the first.
Woodard singled down the left field line, which helped Central Baptist College JV tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
A single by Reed gave SEARK Softball the lead, 3-1, in the top of the third.
Central Baptist College JV captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third when Woodard doubled, scoring two runs, and McGuire singled, scoring one run.
Randerson homered to left field, which helped SEARK Softball tie the game at four in the top of the fifth.
In the bottom of the fifth, Central Baptist College JV broke up the tie when McGuire singled, scoring one run. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 7-4.
Lowery earned the win for Central Baptist College JV. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and four runs over four and one-third innings, striking out two and walking three. Ball took the loss for SEARK Softball. The hurler went six innings, allowing seven runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking four.
Reed and Randerson each drove in two runs for SEARK Softball.
Woodard provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Central Baptist College JV with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Woodard and McGuire each collected two hits for Central Baptist College JV. Broadway paced Central Baptist College JV with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating four walks for the game.
Game 2
SEARK Softball got out to a 4-run lead in the first inning and held on for a 7-6 victory over Central Baptist College JV on Monday. Central Baptist College JV closed the gap by scoring on an error, a single, a double, a walk, and a walk.
SEARK Softball didn't take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at six in the top of the seventh when Alexander hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
SEARK Softball got on the board in the top of the first inning after Randerson tripled, scoring two runs, Randerson scored after tagging up, and Domangue singled, scoring one run.
Hoffman doubled to center field, which helped Central Baptist College JV tie the game at four in the bottom of the third.
Central Baptist College JV took the lead, 6-4, in the bottom of the fifth thanks to two walks.
Fieicht tripled to center field, which helped SEARK Softball tie the game at six in the top of the sixth.
Blythe earned the win for SEARK Softball. The pitcher allowed seven hits and six runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking eight. O’Kelly stepped in the circle first for Central Baptist College JV. The starter allowed nine hits and four runs over four innings, striking out two and walking none.
SEARK Softball collected 11 hits in the game. Fieicht, Coleman, Randerson, and Alexander each collected two hits for SEARK Softball. Fieicht and Randerson each drove in two runs for SEARK Softball.
Havens and Hoffman were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Central Baptist College JV while hitting back-to-back. Hoffman led Central Baptist College JV with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. Hoffman went 2-for-3 on the day. B led Central Baptist College JV with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game.
SEARK Softball will travel back to Holmes CC this Friday 2/27 for another double header beginning at 1pm.
