Seark falls to 2-2 in Conference play after dropping a DH to Carl Albert

Randerson collected four hits in six at bats, but SEARK Softball lost to Carl Albert State College 16-14 on Friday at Southeast Arkansas College. Randerson doubled in the second inning, doubled in the third inning, doubled in the first inning, and singled in the ninth inning.

 

Despite the loss, SEARK Softball did collect 17 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Carl Albert State College had 17 hits on the way to victory.

Carl Albert State College got on the board in the top of the first inning after Berry homered to center field, Dyer grounded into a double play, and Hart singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

 

Carl Albert State College scored six runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. Clark doubled, scoring one run, Smith homered to right field, scoring two runs, and an error scored three runs.

 

SEARK Softball scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. An error scored one run, Randerson doubled, scoring three runs, Domangue singled, scoring one run, and Bryant singled, scoring one run.

 

SEARK Softball made the score 11-9 in the bottom of the third after Randerson doubled, scoring two runs, and Domangue hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

 

Carl Albert State College tied the game in the top of the seventh thanks to a sacrifice fly by Tinsley, and a single by Smith.

 

Carl Albert State College took the lead in the top of the eighth inning after Taylor singled to center field, and Berry grounded out, each scoring one run.

 

Fieicht doubled to center field, which helped SEARK Softball tie the game at 14 in the bottom of the eighth.

 

In the top of the ninth, Carl Albert State College broke up the tie when Hart grounded out, scoring one run. Then a single by Wallis followed to extend the lead to 16-14.

Ball took the loss for SEARK Softball. The reliever went three innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out none and walking three. Blythe led things off in the circle for SEARK Softball. The starter surrendered 11 hits and 10 runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking three. Gibbins led things off in the circle for Carl Albert State College. The righty gave up six hits and seven runs (two earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking none.

 

SEARK Softball accumulated 17 hits in the game. Fieicht, Reed, Bryant, Coleman, and Alexander each collected multiple hits for SEARK Softball. Lopez paced SEARK Softball with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up five walks for the game. SEARK Softball turned two double plays in the game.

 

Carl Albert State College accumulated 17 hits in the game. Smith drove the middle of the lineup, leading Carl Albert State College with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Dyer, Hart, and Wallis each collected three hits for Carl Albert State College. Clark, Taylor, and Berry each collected multiple hits for Carl Albert State College. Carl Albert State College had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Clark, Lowery, and Smith led the team with two bases on balls each. Carl Albert State College stole three bases in the game.
