SEARK Sharks Bounce Back with 98-81 Road Win Over Arkansas Baptist, Improve to 2-1
SEARK answered back in a big way Tuesday night, rebounding from a tough loss to Coahoma with a strong 98-81 victory over Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock.
Southeast Arkansas College moved to 2-1 on the season after a dominant 98-81 road win over Arkansas Baptist College on Tuesday. The Sharks came into the matchup looking to reset after a close loss to a talented Coahoma squad, and they responded with one of their most complete efforts of the young season.
Lavion Owens set the tone early and never cooled off. The sophomore forward powered the Sharks with 33 points on an incredible 14 of 16 shooting while pulling down 11 rebounds. His aggressiveness around the rim helped SEARK control the paint from start to finish.
Jordan Allen followed with a strong all-around performance of his own. The sophomore guard finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds while knocking down three three-pointers. Cadell Wallace added 12 points on efficient shooting, and reserve guard Torrey Caswell provided a spark off the bench with 12 points including two triples.
As a team, SEARK shot 58 percent from the field and outrebounded the Buffaloes 51 to 36. The Sharks applied steady defensive pressure and held ABC to long scoring droughts in both halves, allowing SEARK to build a comfortable lead and maintain momentum throughout the night.
With the win, the Sharks move to 2-1 as they look to continue building rhythm in the early part of the season. SEARK will face the Central Baptist College Mustangs for their next matchup in Conway, AR. Friday, November 14 at 5:00p.m.
