Bio
Ed Corniel, a native of New York, Corniel brings a rich blend of playing experience, academic achievement, and coaching expertise that has already made a significant impact on the team over the past two seasons.
Corniel earned his associates degree in Sports Management and Individual Studies from Jefferson Community College in 2020, and later completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Olivet in 2022. As a collegiate athlete, Corniel excelled at the NJCAA Division III level, earning the prestigious ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove award in 2016, while hitting .347 with 32 RBIs.
His coaching journey began in 2018 at Community Health Academy in the Heights in New York and has included key roles at Southwest Virginia Community College and the University of Olivet. Most recently, Corniel served as the Hitting Coach for the SEARK Sharks, leading the team to a historic offensive season- ranking 5th nationally with a .356 team batting average and making the program’s first-ever regional appearance.
