Sharks Sweep Phillips to Open 2026 with Wins
Southeast Arkansas College opened the new year in strong fashion as both the men’s and women’s basketball teams earned victories in last night’s matchup against Phillips, securing the program’s first wins of 2026.
Men's Basketball
The Sharks delivered an efficient offensive performance, shooting over 50 percent from the field while knocking down 12 three-pointers in the win.
Lavion Owens led all scorers with 26 points, connecting on six shots from beyond the arc and adding eight rebounds. Cadell Wallace finished with 13 points and eight assists, while Dominick Baptiste posted 10 points and eight rebounds. Jordan Allen provided a spark off the bench with 11 points.
SEARK totaled 15 assists and controlled the pace defensively, forcing turnovers and limiting Phillips' opportunities throughout the contest.
Women's Basketball
The women followed with a balanced effort, placing multiple players in double figures and controlling key stretches of the game on both ends of the floor.
Kayla Kimbrough and Takiela Jones each scored 15 points, with Kimbrough also adding eight rebounds and four steals. Bariona Parker contributed 15 points off the bench, while Ammiesha Patterson and Zion Watkins chipped in 11 points apiece. Anitra Honore anchored the Sharks on the glass with 11 rebounds.

Both teams return to action Saturday in Camden, Ark., as Southeast Arkansas College takes on SAU Tech.
The women are scheduled to tip off at 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3 p.m.
