Southeast Arkansas College Baseball Team Concludes Inaugural Season with Remarkable Success

Southeast Arkansas (SEARK) College's baseball team has wrapped up their inaugural season with outstanding accomplishments both on and off the field. The Sharks, comprised of 38 dedicated student-athletes, delivered a commendable 33-23 record, demonstrating exceptional skill and perseverance.

Despite facing a challenging start, the team showcased resilience and determination, culminating their season with an impressive seven-game winning streak. The highlight of this streak was a remarkable upset victory over the #1 team in the country, LSU-Eunice, marking a significant milestone for the new program.

Beyond their athletic achievements, the SEARK baseball team excelled in academics and community service. They maintained a collective GPA above 3.0, with several members achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA. Additionally, the team contributed over 1,000 hours to community service, reinforcing their commitment to making a positive impact in Pine Bluff and Southeast Arkansas.

Head Coach Toby Cornejo expressed immense pride in his team's accomplishments, stating, "I couldn't be prouder of our student-athletes for their dedication and hard work both on and off the field. Their academic achievements, community involvement, and perseverance throughout the season have set a strong foundation for the future of SEARK baseball. Pine Bluff and Southeast Arkansas should look forward to a great season next year as we embark on a full NJCAA region two schedule."

The SEARK College baseball program's successful debut sets a promising precedent for the years to come, with the Sharks poised to build on their achievements and continue their journey towards excellence.
